‘Samurai Jack’ Returns in 2016

I usually don’t report on television news, but this is something that I’ve been waiting/wanting for years. Today Adult Swim, though Facebook, announced that Samurai Jack would make its long-awaited return to television sometime in 2016. What’s even better yet is that the original creator and producer Genndy Tratakosky will be working in finally finishes the story that started back in 2001.

For people who have never heard of Genndy Tratakosky, he responsible for some of my favorite childhood shows, during what I consider to be Cartoons Network‘s Golden Age, that included Dexter’s Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, and the exceptional Star Wars: Clone Wars animated mini-series. Genndy Tratakosky has recently been working on the successful Hotel Transylvania series.

Samurai Jack has been one of the series that I have revisited countless of times due to its many influences. With every new viewing experience, I see more and more references and influences to many sci-fi, samurai, and genre classics such as Lone Wolf and Cub, Seven Samurai, and Metropolis.
