Ridley Scott has been making the rounds for his soon to be released The Martian, along the way German film website, FilmFutter interviewed Ridley Scott. It’s been known that Ridley Scott’s next project will be a sequel to 2012’s Prometheus but looks it like he has further plans and as much as four film sequels to complete his story.
The whole point is to explain the Alien franchise and how and why the creation of the aliens. I always saw the Alien as a type of biological warfare. For me, the original spaceship that I call the croissant, a warship that contains these biomechanoids creatures, which is all about destruction.
Yes, but it will not be the next. It will be in the next but Prometheus or perhaps even in a later, before we are in a sense back in the Alien franchise.
Prometheus had a long revolving pre-production with its beginnings as a prequel to Aliens, then transforming itself into a film set in the same world. Its seems now with the huge success of interconnected universes that Fox maybe trying the same in a much smaller scale by having the Prometheus sequels perfectly tie into the Alien franchise. Let’s not forget the pitched Alien 5 film that was announced to be directed by Neill Blomkamp after posting concept art on his Instagram. If Alien 5 will continue with pre-production after the negative critical and financial reception of Chappie is up in the air at this moment and not much news has been releases since then.
I loved Prometheus and thought it was one of the best sci-fi films in the past couple of years, hearing Radley Scott’s ideas are thrilling to me.
